Fabrica Exhibition
As a way of supporting artists under the age
of 25 in this multi-cultural age, Bennetton established their Communication
Research Centre 'Fabrica' in 1994. A variety of works developed
through Farbrica, including film, design, music, and publications
are on show.

Toshio Arimoto Exhibition
Toshio Arimoto passed away at the age of 38. From
his wondrously bright, flowing pictures pours poetry and music in
a characteristic style that has been labelled as 'fresco' or 'impressionist'.
Despite these obvious influences however, it is easy to see an insatiable
drive for a technique all of his own.

World of Peter Rabbit
This globally touring exhibition commemorates
the hundredth anniversary of the publication of Beatrix Potter's
famous children's book Peter Rabbit. As well as being a great author
and painter, Potter was also a scholar and lover of natural history
and in her will left fourteen farms, 4000 acres and several flocks
of sheep to the National Trust. A range of works and information
on her life is on show.

Audio Picnic at the Museum 7/10
Audio Picnic at the Museum', organised by Japan's
premier sound 'scrapture' aficionado Yukio Fujimoto, is an event
that consists of sound objects, sound installation, a workshop,
a lecture and a concert. An aim of the project is to create unexpected
new meeting spots, by creating works in otherwise unused locations
of the Otani Memorial Art Museum, works that you have to search
for and discover for yourself. The exhibition runs from 1996 to
2006, for a single day each year, making this the seventh (hence
the title). Great fun for all the family.

Shigi Goh - Another View
Shigi Goh takes the old art teacher's adage 'drawing
like a photograph is not real drawing' and twists it around ironically
to get the original perspective 'by drawing a picture like a photograph,
you can draw something that is not a drawing'. By replacing the
grain of a photo with viscous paint, or by trying to eliminate the
actions of the artist as much as possible, then concentrating on
reproducing the image on translucent film by traditional painting,
this can be achieved. You might have to gaze a while at some of
these 60 recent works to be able to see that they are created with
paint.
