Uber-producer/DJ Timo Maas is coming to Osaka at long last! In addition to his annual summer
residency at DC10 in Ibiza, he recently started a new night at the New York's finest Pacha Club.
With over two decades of experience behind the decks, Timo knows exactly what the audience
wants: funky beats and groovy basslines. His genre-less and bold selection of music has caught
the attention of the big times likes of Madonna, Kelis and Placebo to name a few. In June of
this year, he opened for Depeche Mode in Warsaw, Poland. This Grammy-nominated DJ from
Hanover, Germany, loves and believes in what he’s doing and that’s why he has stayed in this
competitive scene for so long. “I approach every gig, every single set and everything I produce,
as if they were my last”, he says. Well let’s go and see what he will offer us in Osaka .

One of the best acts from last year's Electraglide, Vitalic aka Pascal Arbez flies back
to Osaka from France to fill the technoheadz appetites. Starting his producing
career in the late 90s, he'd stayed underground till 2001 when his smash hit Poney
EP was released on the famous Gigolo records. In 2005, he dropped the massive
electro rock tune La Rock01 and it became the anthem of the year. Although he
doesn’t like his own tracks being remixed, he enjoys remixing for others such as
Daft Punk, Bjork and Royksopp. While offstage he is a softly spoken gentleman,
on stage is a different story, transforming into a super energetic techno animal.
It is going to be a big night so be sure to get there early.

In 1991, Shinsaibashi, Osaka and Japan itself
was changed when Murphy's first opened its
doors and started pouring the pints for Japanese
and expats alike. And we're still pouring them.
And we're pouring whiskey. And we're pouring
gin, and we're pouring ... well, everything.
Why is Murphy's still thriving when other bars
have been born and died in a blink of an eye?
In truth is probably down to several reasons, not
least of which is the unique atmosphere that
you'll find here. Whether its a rowdy weekend
night that you're after, a place to watch all the
sports or just the feel of a local away from your
local, you'll find it in Murphy's. We Irish don't
like talking about money but if that's what dictates
your plans, you won't find a cheaper pint
(the full 565ml) in Osaka. It was ¥600 when we
opened and there's been no change in 15 years.
During all this time people have flocked here to
start, end or spend their whole evenings.
We've welcomed in a fair few heads over the
years, some of them even important in some
way or another. The boys of U2 have wound
down after gigs ... as well the Chieftains, Cranberries
and the 'oul Riverdance crew. The
Pogues raised hell and Enya drinks a mineral
water but don't let that fool you ... We had to
put Colin Farrell in a taxi but thankfully Liam
Neeson belied all the stereotypes and was more
intent on buying the pints than drinking them.

Anyway, we're hosting a party to celebrate our
birthday over the 17th, 18th and 19th of November
... we've got three live bands, Bloom Field,
Kracker Japz and Smith & Jones, four local DJs,
competitions and a faceful of drinks to choose
from (including 16 beers and 17 whiskeys), red
bull + vodka for a measly ¥600, car bombs at
a knockdown ¥600 and much more besides.
