Rosehip
If you have a stressful life, suffer fatigue, drink too
much, or smoke, you may find rosehip tea an
effective restorative. Rosehip is simply the berry
of a rose, the dog rose (rosa canina) Rosehip seeds
can be used for making oils for skin care.
The rosehip berry is very rich in vitamin C - about
twenty times that of lemon. It is also bursting with
vitamin E, vitamin P (or flavonoids; antioxidants),
carotene (about twenty times that of tomato), a
licopin (about eight times that of tomato), calcium
(about eight times that of milk), and iron (about
twice that of spinach).
Rosehip tea works great especially for women.
A cup of rosehip tea every day, can make women's
skin more beautiful to keep you looking young. It is
said to stave off wrinkles and spots. Rosehip also
alleviates menstrual pain or disorders, and is considered
very good during pregnancy.
Chamomile
Chamomile (matricaria recutita) is the most effective
herb tea for children and older people. It is
very mild and smells like sweet apple. This herbs
will help you relax and calm down, and is best
taken before going to bed. Chamomile also fights
against, cold, stomachache, and headache (symptoms
of stress or tiredness). It is equally good
against sun-burn, rough or inflamed skin. If you
grow chamomile in your garden you might find it
exercising its restorative properties on the plants
growing around it. Chamomile should be avoided during
early pregnancy.
How to make rosehip or chamomile tea
1) Put into a cup one teaspoon of rosehip or chamomile
(dry or fresh) for one person
2) Pour on boiled water
3) Cover the cup
4) Wait five to six minutes
Add honey if you like. You can also eat the remaining
rosehips as they are full of nourishment. Blended with
other herbs it is even better.
Recommend herb tea for good digestion
• Lemon grass (cymbopogon citrates)
• Peppermint (mentha piperita)
• Fennel (foeniculum vulgare)
• Ginger (zingiber officinale)
Those are very useful herbs when you are suffering from
over eating or over drinking and feel uneasy in your
stomach. It is sure to help your digestion. You would better
to have this tea after meals (you can try to eat fennel seed
after heavy meals for digestion and to freshen your mouth).
Also blending is much better.
How to make blended herb tea
1) Half a teaspoon each of lemon grass (1g) and pepper-
mint (1g) per one person into a cup
2) Pour on boiled water
3) Cover the cup
4) Wait for three to five minutes
Rosehip jam recipe
• 40g Rosehip • Water • 20g Honey or sugar • 10g Lemon
1) Put rosehips into a pan and pour on water, then boil until soft.
2) Add the honey or sugar
3) When it thickens, add a squeeze of lemon
