More, from Coldcut, started the label in 1991, Ninja Tune has been feeding hungry music freaks with a
unique cutting-edge (and quite underground) electronic sound. From the ranks of their exquisite label
roster, they are sending their finest to whip into a frenzy us. DJ Food was originally started as a flexible
jazzy/hip hop platform by the Coldcut boys. Strictly Kev (Kevin Foakes) who has become the public face
of the project, will rock the floor with his mate DK (Darren Knott) while the Brighton-based beatmaker
Bonobo aka Simon Green will take you on a beautiful sound odyssey of music. Jason Swinscoe from The
Cinematic Orchestra, bleepy jazzy electro duo zero db and the post-rock rising-star Yppah will also join

tracks from Any Minute Now). Fans of
dance music may know that they are also
masters in blending the finest products
of music history together into a catchy,
hilarious and - above all - intriguing
groove exploration. As DJs, under their

The Dewaele brothers have been to
Japan on numerous occasions, but most
of their visits have been to Tokyo. "We're
very excited about playing to the Kansai
crowd. We are well aware of the common
theory that in Tokyo things are a little cold,
while here, the crowd brings an energy
and enthusiasm that has left an impression
on all our friends who have performed
here," explains Stephen.
2 Many DJs have had an
intriguing rise to
popularity.
Stephen's difficulty in defining their history
relates primarily to the fact that it has been
as unorthodox as it gets. From band duties
to DJing; remixing to radio shows; mash
ups to clash; and a lot of air miles in between,
the brothers have redefined what
it is to be multi-talented musicians. "All
I am fairly certain of is that we started off
as a rock band and we will probably end
as a rock band." Balancing the roles of
being in a band with the jet set life of
superstar DJs should be far more difficult
than what it appears to be to the brothers.
On this topic Stephen maintains, "The
state of confusion, which we have created
by being fairly indefinable and versatile,
helps."
On their travels they have amassed a
catalogue of crazy stories, but their weirdest
experience took place in Lisbon, Portugal
where an apparent Satanist came on stage
towards the end of their set and threw the
whole table, turntables, CDJs and mixer
onto the dance floor. Stephen went on to
describe the scene, "He held up an upside
-down cross and began ranting in Portuguese
about the war in Iraq and GW Bush.
Half the audience went mad and rioted,
the other half stared on in confusion, and
while we were quite stunned, it dawned
