Solo Exhibition of Roger Walch

Dragonfly Cafe, Osaka

Swiss filmmaker (Yuwaku 3, Lost Island) and photographer Roger Walch will show some of his digital photo and video work at the newly opened Dragonfly Cafe in America Mura. For his first solo exhibition in Osaka Roger presents digital photographs of traditional Kyoto, Nagasaki's famous Gunkanjima, Osaka's Shinsaibashi district and various Shinto festivals. Some of his video art will also be on display. All the photos are for sale, as well as Roger's photo book Five Years in Kyoto and his DVDs. Dragonfly Café is run by two DJs, DJ Stout and DJ Mih'kal and is a non-smoking café with a distinct green philosophy and concept.

Stephan Vanfleteren Exhibition "Belgicum"

Stephan Vanfleteren is a young and acclaimed Flemish photographer who has received many national and international photography awards. For 15 years, Stephan has captured portraits and landscapes of small towns in Belgium. This series consists of black and white photographs that document everyday life in Flanders and Wallonia. In contrast to the vibrant and contemporary Belgium often portrayed in the media, the works reveal a glimpse of the melancholic and somewhat nostalgic world that is rarely exposed to public eyes.

Yoshihide Nakajima and Sayaka Yamashita

Fabre8710 will be presenting artwork from two young up and coming artists. Yoshihide Nakajima intentionally brings in ideas outside of any art theory where he creates a unique and distinctive style to his work. Sayaka Yamashita is an artist who expresses the collective human identity by using vivid colors and variations to her abstract art.

Takayasu Itoh: From the Painting to the Infinite Space

Takayasu Itoh (1935-1985) was a molding artist born in Akashi, Hyogo. After graduating from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, he came into the spotlight for paintings utilizing gypsum and plastic, creating threedimensional works and objects based on the concept of "unlimited space" while also trying his hand at environmental design and graphical pieces. He died at the young age of 50. We look back at Takayasu Itoh's diverse range of works.
