Festival is a big outdoor festival features
all the different kind of electronic music
and the gay mix stage will be added this
time. Headliners are Yoji aka Yoji Biome-
hanika, the internationally acclaimed
hard dance DJ/producer from Osaka,
DMC world champion DJ Kentaro, Don
Letts, the man behind the punk/reggae
scene in the late seventies in London
along with countless fine DJs and live
acts. The grass-covered site has lots
of tropical trees with great ocean view.
If the weather is fine, you can see the
beautiful Akashi bridge too. Great music
in nature (but not too far from the city
center) - a perfect finale to the open-
air season.
Club Onzime will be throwing another
big party at the Namura Zousen Atochi
aka Black Chamber and Studio Partita
in Kitakagaya. They are featuring the
Belgium electro/rock band Soulwax
and their alter ego 2 Many DJs. Fans
of quality left-of-centre rock music
will know Soulwax from their highly
acclaimed albums Much Against
Everyone's Advice, Any Minute Now
and Nite Versions (an album that
reinterprets and reworks tracks from
Any Minute Now). Fans of dance music
may know that they are also masters
in blending the finest products of music
history together into a catchy, hilarious
and - above all - intriguing groove
exploration. They have been to Osaka
for a few times under their 2 Many DJs
moniker but this is their very first gig in
Osaka as Soulwax. They are one of the
highest demands in the electro world
you might have to wait for another few
years to catch them in Osaka so do not
miss this chance! The closest station is
Kitakagaya station on the subway
Yotsubashi Line.
The duo of Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe, aka Extrawelt
will be back in Osaka with their long-awaited debut album
Schöne Neue Extrawelt. Schaffhausen and Raabe made their
name slinging trance to the masses as Midimiliz, Spirallianz
and the Delta and sometimes still break out the Midi name for
a 12-inch or two. But these days, tech-house seems to be more
their speed, as the duo have released acclaimed records on
Border Community, Traum and Cocoon. The techno empire
Cocoon and the A&R Sven Vath liked them so much, though,
that they asked them to record an entire full-length of their lovely
little tunes. According to the boys, the album is full of "sunrise
scenarios, energy, revolution and kaput-ness" and is danceable
enough but not entirely focused in the club. You can expect
to hear lots of tunes from the album for sure. In addition, the
electronic king from Pitch Black will be joining the night. The
party is going to be an absolute mayhem!
