Canadian expat masters Soroban

sorobanYannic Piché, student of the Osaka Abacus Association’s free soroban classes has successfully joined a small elite group of soroban experts by passing the 1-kyu test. Yannic is the first Canadian to ever achieve the feat and told KS “As for abacus, reaching level 1 was not the ultimate goal but only a new beginning. There’s no end to the process, but I intend to climb some of the rungs on the dan ladder. Improving my mental calculation (anzan) skills is also a high priority”. Yannic is a full-time university student in a translation program and works part time as a translator for clients in Japan and Canada.
