Kyoto International Manga Museum Until Feb 7 This exhibition explores the question, “Who is manga for?” through the lens of three specific genres: educational manga, satirical manga, and moe bijin shojo illustrations. These subjects are interpreted from the viewpoints of conventional audiences and those with non-traditional perspectives such as international fans, cosplayers, visually impaired readers, and others. Kyoto International Manga Museum The renowned girls manga magazine Ribon was first issued by the Shueisha publishing company in 1955. Over the years, a number of famous shojo (literally, ‘young woman’) manga artists have gotten their start by appearing in Ribon, such as Arina Tanemura, Ai Yazawa, and Wataru Yoshizumi.
