25 Years of Craic

Murphy’s Osaka – bringing shenanigans to Shinsaibashi for 25 years!

If you’re up for some swallyin’, get down to Murphy’s this month for a pint or two to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Japan’s oldest Irish bar. Since opening in 1992, Murphy’s has been the home of Kansai craic. The bar is proud to provide the cheapest full pint in Osaka, Guinness and Kilkenny direct from Ireland, and a comprehensive selection of whiskeys and spirits.

This special anniversary will be a multi-day hullabaloo kicking off on Wednesday, Nov 22 with a live traditional Irish music show in the evening. On Nov 23, the national holiday Thursday, Murphy’s is throwing an Independence Day party. They’ll be serving hamburgers and chips plus a drink for ¥1,000. Friday, Nov 24, Christopher Masami will perform live belting out 90’s covers from 9pm. There’ll be scrumptious ¥1,000 fish and chips (including one drink) all night. Saturday, Nov 25th is the big anniversary eve! There’ll be all-night drink specials and local Irish music band Revili’O will hit the stage from 9:30pm.

Every other day of the year, Murphy’s offers delicious authentic Irish fare as well as traditional pub favorites, and thanks to a 100-inch screen and three other TVs, it’s the ideal place to enjoy major live sporting events from around the world. So, no need to wait until anniversary week to get acquainted with this time-honored Irish watering hole! And don’t forget that bonenkai (year-end party) season is almost upon us – if you’re organizing your own special event, call Murphy’s for a quote on a top-class private party. They have a range of options to suit different budgets and group sizes. Or, if you’re in a band and want to play one of the most popular locations in Shinsaibashi, give them a call to arrange a date for a live show.

Overseeing it all – the guiding hand of Murphy’s friendly and fun atmosphere – is the owner Mick O’Carroll and brother of Siobhan who was the one to first set up the bar back in 1992. So, head over to Shinsaibashi and clink a celebratory glass of Guinness with Mick this month for 25 years of fun, friends, laughs, and shenanigans in Osaka. Sláinte!
